Tacoma Rainiers infielder Brock Rodden earned 2026 Pacific Coast League All-Star honors after slugging 19 home runs and driving in a career-best 65 RBI in 92 games at Triple-A. Minor League Baseball announced the selection Saturday, Sept. 26.
The switch-hitter batted .262 with 22 doubles, three triples and eight stolen bases for Tacoma. His .499 slugging percentage ranked seventh in the PCL, and his 19 home runs ranked eighth.
Rodden was one of three PCL hitters with at least 20 doubles, 19 home runs and fewer than 100 strikeouts.
He also played five defensive positions. That tied Ryan Bliss for the most on the Rainiers' roster. An MLB press release detailed the breakdown: third base (35 games), shortstop (30), second base (24), left field (eight) and center field (one).
Seattle selected Rodden's contract on Aug. 14, and he made his Major League debut that day at Houston, going 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI. He hit safely in each of his first six MLB games.
"I had so much fun out there," Rodden told the Wichita Eagle after his debut weekend in mid-August. "I was definitely a little nervous at first, but after a few pitches went in the zone, I was back to playing baseball like I always do."
In 30 games with the Mariners, Rodden hit .197 with three doubles, one triple and four RBI. The Mariners placed him on the injured list Thursday, Sept. 24, with left patella tendon inflammation. Seattle Sports reported the IL stint was retroactive to Wednesday, Sept. 23.
The Walla Walla Union-Bulletin reported Rodden appeared in the Mariners clubhouse on crutches Saturday, his left knee in a brace and heavily wrapped. He had undergone surgery to clean up and remove scar tissue from the knee and received a platelet-rich plasma injection. He is expected to resume baseball activities in eight to 10 weeks.
The PCL honor is the second All-Star nod of Rodden's career. He earned Northwest League All-Star recognition in 2024 with High-A Everett. MLB Pipeline ranks him the Mariners' No. 19 prospect.
The Rainiers open the 2027 season Friday, March 26, 2027, against the Las Vegas Aviators.
