Nick Raposo's two-run homer in the ninth inning Thursday, Sept. 3, erased a two-run deficit for the Tacoma Rainiers. Tacoma beat the Albuquerque Isotopes 9-8 in 10 innings at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque.

The victory extended the Rainiers' winning streak to seven games, the longest of the 2026 season.

It was the second straight game Tacoma trailed entering the ninth and came back to win. Both times, the Rainiers scored three runs in extra innings to pull it out.

Tacoma (32-28 second half, 65-70 overall) led 4-3 through six innings. But Albuquerque tied it in the seventh, then took a 6-4 lead in the eighth when Sterlin Thompson doubled home two runners.

That set the stage for Raposo. With one out in the ninth, the catcher launched his fifth homer of the season off the left-center field scoreboard, tying the game at 6-6. He became the third Rainier this season to hit a game-tying homer in the ninth inning or later, joining Brennen Davis and Nolan Jones.

The game was tied. It would not stay that way.

Tacoma pounced in the 10th. Ryan Bliss singled in automatic runner Axel Sanchez for a 7-6 lead. Jones added a sacrifice fly. Then Andy Ibáñez ripped a two-out RBI double into the left-center gap, scoring Michael Arroyo from third to make it 9-6.

Albuquerque did not go quietly. Roc Riggio hit a leadoff homer in the bottom of the 10th to cut it to 9-8, and the tying run reached scoring position with two outs. Reliever Peyton Alford got Thompson to ground out to end it.

Ibáñez and Arroyo each finished 3-for-5. Arroyo tripled, drove in a run and scored three times. Since his promotion to Triple-A on July 7, the 21-year-old's 54 hits and 39 RBI rank third in the Pacific Coast League. His 22 extra-base hits, 37 runs scored and 95 total bases all rank fifth.

Right-hander Carson Fulmer turned in a quality start, allowing three runs on nine hits with eight strikeouts and no walks across six innings. It was the Rainiers' 34th quality start as a staff this season, the most in minor league baseball.

Bliss, Leo Rivas and Miles Mastrobuoni also recorded multi-hit games. Victor Labrada was hit by a pitch for the 16th time this season, tying Doug Jennings (1989) and Brian Raabe (1997) for second-most in a single Rainiers season.

Tacoma plays for an eighth straight win Friday, Sept. 4, at Albuquerque. First pitch is set for 5:35 p.m. PST.
