Tacoma's Proctor District shuts down several blocks Saturday, Oct. 17, for the third annual Halloween Parade and Spooky Street Fair.

The event is free.

The street fair runs from 3 to 8 p.m. along North Proctor Street between North 26th and 29th streets. More than 100 vendors will sell clothing, accessories, jewelry, skin care, local art and other handcrafted goods, The News Tribune reported. The parade starts around 7 p.m., with floats, costumed performers, monsters and decorated vehicles marching through the district.

Families with kids will find a dedicated kids market and kids zone on North 27th Street between North Proctor and North Adams streets.

Live music acts perform throughout the afternoon near the Blue Mouse Theatre. The lineup includes local bands The Thrill and The Variant and drag performer Autumn Equinox.

Food vendors lined up for the fair include Thirst Killer Lemonade, Green Steamer serving dim sum, Dipped & Devine with candied fruit and Baking Duos offering baked goods.

A costume contest begins at 6:15 p.m., with categories for funniest, cutest, scariest and most creative costumes. Registration is open online through the day of the event.
