Tacoma Mall shoppers looking for a smoothie will need to head elsewhere.
Jamba has closed its location inside the mall, and a Renton-based Indian restaurant called Clove Indian Cuisine will take over that space plus two adjacent storefronts for a planned 2027 opening.
Clove will absorb the former Jamba spot, the former Diamond Nails space, and the former Regis Hair Salon space, according to Tacoma Mall public relations.
Clove's first location operates at 829 N 10th St. in Renton's Landing shopping center. The restaurant describes its menu as a modern take on traditional Indian dishes using local produce. No specific opening date beyond 2027 has been announced for the Tacoma Mall location, and no owner or spokesperson has been publicly identified.
The Jamba closure appears to have happened quietly. The News Tribune reported on June 26 that the juice bar had been closed for over a month. No explanation from the chain has surfaced. The nearest remaining Jamba locations are in Puyallup and Federal Way.
Clove isn't the only new tenant headed to Tacoma Mall. Fat Zach's Pizza, owned by husband-and-wife team Zach and Shanna Johns, plans to open its first Tacoma location in fall 2026 in the former MOD Pizza space across from BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse.
The brand started as a food truck in 2019 and has three existing locations in Puyallup and Sumner.
Potato Corner, a Philippines-based flavored fries franchise, has submitted a tenant improvement application to the City of Tacoma for a food court kiosk next to Sarku Japan. Permit records show an anticipated work start date in June 2026, though no opening date has been set.
Swarovski, the crystal and jewelry retailer, is also listed as incoming, according to Tacoma Mall public relations. In the mall's newer Village buildings, Gong Cha bubble tea, Supreme Dumplings, Simply Thai, and Happy Lamb Hot Pot are all on the "coming soon" list.
Cleopatra Ink, a tattoo and piercing studio inside the mall, is temporarily closed for renovations and is set to reopen July 2, 2026, according to Tacoma Mall public relations.
