Tacoma residents 65 and older can get free admission to regular-season home games at all Tacoma Public Schools (TPS) high schools through a Gold Card program the district announced Thursday, Oct. 8.
The card covers every regular-season home contest across all TPS sports. Seniors with a Gold Card can walk up to any qualifying game and get in at no cost.
"We want our schools and athletic events to remain connected to the community and to the generations of Tacoma students who came before us," said James Neil, TPS Director of Athletics and Activities.
To qualify, applicants must be at least 65 years old and either live in Tacoma or have graduated from a TPS high school. The application is available online through the district's website. TPS did not list an application deadline, and the program is confirmed active for the 2026-27 school year.
The card has limits.
It does not cover postseason or playoff games, even those hosted at TPS facilities. It also does not cover away games hosted by other school districts or organizations. Seniors planning to attend a playoff contest would need to purchase a ticket separately.
For fans who don't qualify for the Gold Card, TPS sells tickets through its GoFan cashless ticketing system. According to the district's GoFan announcement, an all-season pass costs $125 plus a $7.50 fee, totaling $132.50. A 10-game flex pass costs $60 plus a $5 fee, totaling $65. Both options save $8 compared with buying single-game tickets. Tickets are purchased online and scanned from a mobile device at the gate.
The Gold Card is valid for any regular-season home game during the 2026-27 school year. Interested seniors can apply at any time through the TPS athletics page.
