Tacoma's Pride Festival is back at Wright Park for a second straight year, and it's still free.
The Rainbow Center and Metro Parks Tacoma will host the annual LGBTQIA2S+ celebration on July 11 from noon to 6 p.m. at the 27-acre arboretum at 501 S. I St. No tickets, no entry fee.
What to expect
Last year's festival at Wright Park included food trucks, drag performances, and live music, the News Tribune reported. A specific 2026 entertainment lineup has not been announced, though vendor and entertainer applications were open on tacomapride.org as of early July.
Wright Park offers shade under more than 600 mature trees, plus the W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory. A Summer Plant Sales event at the conservatory is also scheduled for 10 a.m. that same Saturday, giving early arrivals something to browse before the festival opens at noon.
Why Wright Park
The festival spent years at Fireman's Park in downtown Tacoma before organizers moved it back to Wright Park in 2025. The Rainbow Center calls Wright Park "the park where it all began."
As attendance grew, organizers needed a larger venue. The News Tribune reported in April 2025 that the festival's increasing size prompted the shift back to the bigger park. The Rainbow Center credited Metro Parks Tacoma with supporting the logistics of the move.
Community backing
The 2026 festival has drawn sponsorship from Pierce County, MultiCare, Metro Parks Tacoma, US Bank, BECU, Pacific Lutheran University, Pierce College, and the City of Tacoma, among others. Those contributions help keep the event free, according to the Rainbow Center.
