The countywide office serves all of Pierce County, including Tacoma. The nonpartisan race also includes Bryan Chushcoff.
According to her campaign Facebook page, Schnepf manages a team of approximately 200 public servants as chief criminal deputy.

Schnepf began as a deputy prosecuting attorney at the Kitsap County Prosecutor's Office, where she served from 2006 to 2012, according to BallotReady profile data. She was promoted to senior deputy prosecuting attorney in Kitsap County and held that role from 2012 to 2019.
Schnepf moved to the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in 2019 as the domestic violence and human trafficking division supervisor. She held that position until 2024, when she became chief criminal deputy prosecuting attorney, the role she holds now.
