Potato Corner, a flavored-fries chain that started in the Philippines, opened in October at Tacoma Mall's dining pavilion at 4502 S. Steele St.

The kiosk is one of several new food and retail tenants filling out the mall's Village development. The Tacoma News Tribune first reported on the opening and the broader tenant activity.

Potato Corner's menu features straight-cut fries, curly fries, tater tots and sweet potato fries in flavors including barbecue, cheese, sour cream, chili barbecue and garlic Parmesan.

Sizes range from "Jumbo," the smallest pack with one style, to "Tera," the largest with three flavors. The store also serves chicken tenders, wings and poppers. Desserts are listed as "coming soon."

The brand bills itself as "Philippines' Favorite Flavored Fries."

More tenants on the way

Clove Indian Cuisine submitted permits in October with the city of Tacoma for a 4,063-square-foot restaurant across from Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya, according to the News Tribune. The plans include a 613-square-foot outdoor patio. The restaurant is planned for spring 2027.

Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. is also planned for the Village next spring, according to information Jeannine Hall, director of business and marketing development at the mall, provided to the News Tribune in June.

The Dearborn, Michigan-based café has grown into a national franchise with dozens of U.S. locations. Its closest current site is in Redmond.

Fat Zach's Pizza is planned for the former Mod Pizza space near the dining-pavilion entrance. The Tacoma Mall location would be the chain's first in Tacoma. Fat Zach's started as a food truck in 2019 and has grown to three area restaurants, a food truck and a catering division.

Village fills up

The Tacoma Mall Village has added a string of restaurants and stores over the past year. Dave's Hot Chicken opened in January. Shake Shack opened in November 2025. SouthSoundBiz.com reported that Supreme Dumplings opened in June, months ahead of schedule. Other tenants now open or coming soon include Gong Cha bubble tea, Simply Thai, Happy Lamb Hot Pot, T-Mobile Experience and Lovesac.

Potato Corner sits next to Sarku Japan in the dining pavilion.
