Karl Williams is running for Pierce County District Court Position 6 in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election. The county's official sample ballot lists him unopposed in the nonpartisan race.
Williams has served on the district court since 2019, according to his official county biography. Before that, he served as a district court judge pro tempore from 1996 to 2018, as well as in Fife, Puyallup and Ruston.
His biography describes 30 years in private practice, including managing-partner work at Griffin and Williams and arbitration in Pierce and King County superior courts.
Williams served as president of the statewide District and Municipal Court Judges Association in 2024-25. His county biography also lists co-chairing the district court's Equity and Social Justice Committee.
He earned a law degree from the University of Puget Sound School of Law and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Washington.
