Judge Meng Li Che is running to retain Court of Appeals Division Two, District One, Position 2 in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election. Pierce County's official sample ballot lists her without an opponent in the nonpartisan race.
Che was appointed to Division Two on Nov. 23, 2022, according to her official Washington Courts biography. Earlier, she worked at the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals beginning in 2010 and served as an assistant chief industrial appeals judge.
That work involved workers' compensation appeals and alleged workplace-safety violations. Before joining the appellate bench, she also maintained a public-defense practice in Pierce County, according to the court biography.
Che earned a bachelor's degree from the University of San Diego and a law degree from Seattle University.
Her listed community service includes serving as a trustee and treasurer for the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts, subsequently known as Tacoma Arts Live, from 2011 to 2015. The biography also identifies her as a senior fellow of the American Leadership Forum.
