Jet's Pizza, the Detroit-style chain with a shop in Northeast Tacoma, plans to open five more locations across Pierce County over the next five years.

Franchise owner Michael Maddie will operate the new stores, the Tacoma News Tribune first reported. One location will open in Ruston and another in University Place. Three more will land elsewhere in Pierce County, according to Jet's Pizza representative Gabriella Vultaggio.

The first new shop is expected to open within six to seven months, Vultaggio said. The development agreement is still in its early stages, and exact addresses have not been determined.

Maddie already runs the Jet's Pizza at 4125 B 49th Ave NE in Tacoma, which the Tribune reported opened in July 2025. He grew up in the Detroit area and said in a news release that franchise ownership lets him "share a little piece of home with the broader Seattle/Tacoma Market."

"Our goal is to bring authentic Detroit-Style Pizza to as many consumers in the market as possible," Maddie said in the release.

The chain is known for its Detroit-style square pies with crispy edges but also serves round and thin-crust pizzas. Most pies start around $20.

Specialty options include the "Eugene Supreme" topped with Italian sausage, onions, green peppers and mild peppers, and the "Jet 10" loaded with pepperoni, ham, hamburger, Italian sausage, bacon, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and black olives. The menu also lists cheesy bread, wings, salads and jumbo cookies.

Separately, a Jet's Pizza at 5815 Lakewood Towne Center, Suite B2, is listed as coming soon on the company's website.

Whether that Lakewood store falls under Maddie's agreement or a different franchisee has not been disclosed. That location would be in addition to the five stores Maddie announced.

The expansion adds to Jet's Pizza's small but growing Washington footprint. A Bothell location is also listed as opening soon on the company's site.
