Pentatonix returns to the Tacoma Dome on Thursday, Nov. 5 to open its "Christmas in the City" North American tour.
The Grammy-winning a cappella group last played the venue in 2019 during a world tour.
Member Mitch Grassi told The News Tribune he doesn't recall much about that show seven years ago but said he's "excited to make some new memories" in Tacoma.
Grassi, a countertenor vocalist and founding member of the Arlington, Texas-based group, said smaller cities bring a particular energy.
He told The News Tribune that crowds in those markets tend to be electric because touring acts visit less often.
"They are so excited that we're there, and the energy is … just amazing," Grassi said.
The show starts at 7 p.m.
The tour supports a deluxe version of the group's "Christmas in the City" holiday album, set for release Friday, Oct. 30.
The News Tribune reported the deluxe edition includes 10 new songs.
NJ.com described the additions as two covers and seven live recordings.
Grassi said the tour will incorporate the new tracks alongside last year's setlist, with games and audience participation mixed in.
Pentatonix formed in 2011 after winning NBC's "The Sing-Off."
The five-member group, known for Christmas covers like "Mary, Did You Know?" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," has won three Grammy Awards.
Its current lineup is Scott Hoying, Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Matt Sallee and Kevin Olusola.
The tour runs through Dec. 22. Tickets for the Tacoma Dome show are available through Ticketmaster.
